Our Olongapo City Hall cost no more than Php 60million to build. The very functional low-rise building, which houses some 1,400 city employees, was inaugurated in 1998. One of the proud symbols of Olongapo’s relentless march towards prosperity for all. It is one of the Philippine’s most modern city halls.
Another testimony to Olongapo’s progress-oriented development is our James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital, built in 1996 in memory of the city’s first elected mayor. Equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities, some of the finest in the region, the hospital has a staff professional doctors, nurses, managers and administrators.

Its 350 beds bring to 486 the total number of hospital beds available in Olongapo’s nine hospitals. And to complement the hospital, the City Health Department offers services through its Medical-Dental Division, the Social Hygiene Clinic, the Environmental Sanitation Management Office and the City Civil Registry.
With the education high among the city government’s list of priorities, 1999 saw the establishment of
a true community school – the Gordon College, School abound in Olongapo: 53 public 54 private institutions of learning boast a total enrollment of some 59,000 students ,guaranteeing an educated populace that continues to supply most of Subic Bay Freeport’s man power requirements.
Coupled with our city government’s financial support to poor but deserving students through the James L. Gordon Development Foundation, our youth are assured of the enormous opportunity to uplift their future.
The Olongapo City Convention Center (OCCC) opened in July 2001 as a regional landmark offering the most technological advance conference capabilities in the entire Subic Bay . Veritably, this state-of-the-art facility now stands as one of the outstanding landmarks in the City of Olongapo. With Complete amenities and venue that accommodate large crowds, the OCCC is indeed a pride of this city that will promote tourism and spur growth and activity in our locality. It is an ideal convention destination in the region.
Related to education, our Olongapo City Library houses sizable amount of books, magazine ,journals , and other printed and digital documents for the city’s students and researches to pursue. The library adds to its collection through constant outsourcing from external sources worldwide and through book donations from local citizenry Plan are also underway to expand and modernize the City Library.
In the modern edifice of our Olongapo City Museum lies the rich and significant reminders of the past chronicling
the events that shaped Olongapo into what it has become today. Presented in a manner that is fascinating and educational, the City Museum will serve as a
testament that will inspire our future generation of achievers.
Situated in the hearth of our city's central business district, the Olongapo City Mall provides a whole new range of shopping
convenience with over 137 retail and service establishments along with amusement and entertainment facilities for the whole family to enjoy.
